First Aide Kit for Cats

In an emergency, having the proper supplies can save your cat's life.  Most of the following items are available in drugstores.  You can simply expand a human first-aid kit to serve both you and your cat.  Remember to replace any items you use.

Scissors Gauze squares
Tweezers Coton balls & roll
Claw clippers Adhesive tape
Penlight flashlight Roller gauze (self-adhering)
Magnifying glass (type with light recommended Elastic bandage
Examination gloves Eyedropper
Rectal thermometer & lubricant Syringe (needle removed)
Isopropyl robbing alcohol (70%) Syrup of ipecac (Caution: Only to be given on instructions by vet or poison control center and only in dosage specified)
Hydrogen peroxide (3%) Eye wash
Povidone-iodine Styptic powder or pencil
Antibiotic ointment (neomycin, polymixin B, bacitracin) Elizabethan collar (available at pet supply stores and many vet clinics)
Assorted sizes of sterile non-stick pads
